The price guide
Nine services. Every price is a range with both ends, with the time it takes printed beside it.
The card that hangs by the door says the same things in the same order. Your stylist gives you the exact number before anything is wet and writes it on your card in pencil.
First visit
Start here if you are not sure what you need.
Free consultation
Time: 30 min
Price: Free
With the chair that does the work.
Your hair dry and the window behind you. Twenty minutes of looking and ten of numbers: the plan and the price go on your card. You can leave with both and book nothing. If two chairs are involved, both stylists look at your hair together, so you say what went wrong once.
Curls
Marisol’s chair, the one nearest the window. Curls are cut dry, so come in with your hair the way you wear it.
Curl cut
Time: 90 min
Price: $95 to $130
Marisol’s chair
Cut dry, curl by curl, then diffused to finish. Marisol wets one section only, to check the shape.
Toward the top of the range: hair past the shoulder blades, or very dense hair.
Curl refresh
Time: 45 min
Price: $55 to $70
Marisol’s chair
Shape and ends only, no full cut. It suits the weeks between cuts, when the length is right and the curls have lost their edge.
Toward the top of the range: dense hair, because every section takes longer to shape.
Color
Teodora’s chair. Color is checked at the window by the door against a white towel, never under the lamps.
Balayage
Time: 3 hr 30 min
Price: $240 to $380
Teodora’s chair
Painted by hand, toned, trimmed. The formula goes on the back of your card.
Toward the top of the range: hair past the shoulder blades, dense hair, or lightening over dark color.
Color correction
Time: 4 to 6 hr
Price: $350 to $600
Teodora’s chair
Quoted in writing at the consultation, as a range. If the work will pass the top of it, we stop and text or call you first.
What is on the hair now decides the hours: box dye, old highlights and uneven lift each add some. Bring photos of what you had before, even the bad ones.
All-over color
Time: 2 hr
Price: $110 to $160
Teodora’s chair
One shade, roots to ends, checked at the window before anything is rinsed.
Toward the top of the range: hair past the shoulders, or a lot of gray to cover.
Cuts and blowouts
Joan’s chair for scissor cuts and blowouts, Dev’s for clippers.
Cut and finish
Time: 60 min
Price: $70 to $95
Joan’s chair
Scissor work on straight to wavy hair, with a finish so you see the shape before you leave.
Blowout
Time: 45 min
Price: $50 to $65
Joan’s chair
Wash and a round-brush blowout, a cool-air pass at the end, and a section clip left in your bag so the shape holds to the next wash.
Men’s cut
Time: 40 min
Price: $38 to $50
Dev’s chair
Clippers and scissors, neckline cleaned up before the cape comes off. Bring a photo, or the guard number you usually ask for.
Why every price is a range
Ask for the number before anything is wet. You will get it.
Teodora
Length
Hair that reaches the shoulder blades takes longer to cut, rinse, dry and paint than hair at the chin. The hours are most of the price.
Thickness
Dense hair is divided into more sections and each section gets its own pass. Fine hair takes less time and sits lower in the range.
What is on it already
Old color, box dye and heat damage change what the work has to be. Your stylist looks at your hair dry before quoting, which is why the consultation comes first.
Take the free consultation if you are not sure what you need. It is thirty minutes.
The small print, in plain words
- Deposit
- None. You pay at the desk after the work.
- Two services in one visit
- Add them up: the price ranges and the times both add. Color goes first and the cut comes after it, and each chair works on its own part.
- Cancelling
- Up to 24 hours ahead is free. Inside 24 hours, half the service price is due at your next visit.
- Running late
- Fifteen minutes is fine and the service is trimmed to fit. Past twenty we rebook you and it costs nothing.
- First color here
- A patch test behind the ear, 48 hours ahead. Ask at the desk for the kit; it costs nothing.
- Corrections
- A color correction is quoted in writing as a range. If the work will pass the top of it, we stop and text or call you first.
